Over at That Dog Dancing Guy the theme for the photo of the week is currently “by the sea.” I don’t know about you but given that I just spent the last thirty minutes out in minus-thirty windchill, I could stand to look at some bright, beach-side photos right now.
The pictures here are not recent ones. They remind me of sunnier, happier times. Times when I didn’t have to worry about losing my thumbs to the frigid January climate. Oddly enough, Shiva looks just as cheerful on the warmer beach as she did on the icy road tonight.
Brainless, nutty mutt. Maybe when I venture out again in the morning, I’ll try to adopt her attitude. Perhaps if I pretend we are walking along the shore, I will be able to smile as the wind blows snow into my mouth.
The rattling of the frozen trees kind of sounds like the ocean… Right?

right….if we think it, it is so
Gorgeous photos!

What a gorgeous beach you have…is that close enough for you to visit often? Is there a lot of wind-generated power used where you are?

I know how you feel! We even broke down and went to Bass Pro to walk on Monday so we could walk inside!

Just remember it’s always sunny in your head:)
Eleven years in Florida and we never took the dogs to the beach. They weren’t allowed. Now they go to lake beaches here in Oklahoma and LOVE it. But I’m with you on cold wind. BRRRR.

We are sending beautiful beach thoughts your way (although we didn’t get to go to the beach today… rainy here today in So Cal). Stay warm – and, yes, just keep telling yourself those frozen trees sound like the ocean! You’re practically there!

You’re very brave to still be walking, even I “The dogs must walk every day” woman has given in and is training inside, it’s just too cold!

We are ashamed to whine on the rare occasions when our world dips into the 30′s but we whine anyway. Yes, we ARE total wusses.

Those beautiful ocean photos made both me and my dogs whimper today….we are sub-zero wind chills here in NH, so in full hibernation mode! It will be over soon, right?

Of course Shiva is happy walking in the cold. She doesn’t have filling that ache in sub zero temps.
Ooooooooh, I miss the warmth of the sunny shore… The cold has been spectacular here as well. Ah well, it is January after all….

I feel like such a baby for complaining about sub 30 degree weather! The cold can really get you down, can’t it? Big warm hugs to you!!

Oh how I wish a few pictures by the sea could make me feel warmer! The weather has been just as cold here Christine. My dogs don’t want to stay out in it more than a few minutes, especially Daisy. We are all chomping at the bit to get outside and go for a long walk. They say this weekend we will hit 30. I’ll take it! After -16 and -20 to -30 windchill nearly every day, I am read for a chance.
Hang in there! Spring is right around the corner!
