The below photo was taken within the first month that Shiva lived with us, way back in the spring of 2009. It might have been before she destroyed every pair of shoes I owned, or after. It was obviously before she wrecked the rug. I didn’t mind that episode too much. The carpet was ugly, and it was free.
None of the pictures we have from this period are very good. My camera had been a bargain bin purchase and I had no clue what I was doing in any respect. They are still special to me. What stands out to me most is how little she has changed.
Shiva is still Shiva, as this much more recent picture shows. We’re the ones who are different. Thank dog for that.
With that, I have completed my 700th post. How long ago it all seems.

BTW, I agree… It’s not the dog that changes…it’s us, the parents who do. Like that saying about dogs… “Dogs find the person that needs them the most”… It’s our dogs that bring life into focus for us, teach us to appreciate the finer things in life… They literally teach you how to be alive…. So, yeah… Thank Dog for that

Shiva looks just as young and adorable as she did back then. She doesn’t even look older! I think she has mellowed some since I first started reading your blog, but maybe I am reading too much into your more recent posts?
