Case of the Lazies

I’m only on day four of NaBloPoMo and already I’m struggling. This does not bode well for someone hoping to win a prize at the end of these 30 days. Luckily, with a pet blog, photos and videos often count as full posts. At least, I say they do. If this space starts to turn into pictures of Shiva’s feet, you’ll know why.

Today I wanted to post a video of my dog on crack to show you what we’ve been dealing with the last couple days. Unfortunately, as soon as I pulled out a camera, she turned into Lassie, the sweetest dog in the world. I felt like that guy in the Warner Brothers cartoon. I’m going to have to be a lot sneakier next time, obviously.

As that was my only brilliant idea for today’s post and it failed miserably, you are stuck with more links. I promise they are all ten thousand times more titillating than this one.

The Daily Beast‘s Beastly Reporting on Dangerous Dog Breeds – I can’t believe we’re still at this place. It scares me how many people will see this and believe it.

Tips for a Lousy Day or Week – Shelagh Duffet’s photographs and artwork perk me up immediately.

Own Your Beauty: Imperfection, Perception, and Why There Are No Flaws – Karen Walrond is my hero. Her new book, which I am saving my pennies for, The Beauty of Different is available from Bright Sky Press and Amazon.

We Are the Cure – An important reminder about dog cancer awareness.

Want Cookies! – I have yet to try this out but it sounds like something a certain friend of mine would like.

Operation: Give Big Dogs a Break – A topic very dear to my heart. Travelling with dogs is not easy, but travelling without them is harder so most of the time we just don’t go anywhere.

Why Sisterly Chats Make People Happier – This is just interesting and makes me miss my sister even more.

Have a happy Thursday!

ETA: Vodka Berry Cheesecake – Seriously. This needs to be made at least once a week.

  1. Since this is the first time I have stopped by I just stopped at that description of your dog on crack.

It occurs to me that in some mysterious way your dog might be dealing to my dog. I think he is on crack. We’d like the lassie pills now please.

  2. I really appreciate this post! Loved every single link and bookmarked many. I also loved the style of this writing post, a little of this and little of that acutally suited my impatient mind this morning.

    • Thank you! My brain has been a lot like that lately. Perhaps the cold weather is making me a little loopy as well. That’ll be my story to my boss anyway.

  3. Hi! I’m hoppin’ over from the blog hop! Loved your post! I just had a rant on my facebook page about that stupid Daily Beast dangerous dogs article… Couldn’t agree with you more! Stop by and visit my blog!

    • I will have to do that. Thanks for the comment.

It just makes me really mad that these myths are still out there. Rant away!

  4. Happy Thursday! We are stopping by from The Teacher’s Pet Blog – “Thankful FUR 3 Thursday” to say hello and to help follow your blog! Please stop by and say Hello and follow us too. Have a fun day.

PeeS Agree with you on The Daily Beast Article, my mom signed the petition asking them to retract the article. We will check out the other links too.

  6. I want a video of Shiva on crack, please!

And I know where you’re coming from on the traveling bit. I don’t travel unless the dogs come, my family has ostracized me from family vacations. And now with the rabbit I doubt we’re ever going anywhere ever again.

Ooh, you want to see a dangerous dog? I think this post fits very well-

  7. Dang! I didn’t know about NaBloPoMo till you mentioned you were doing it and trying for a prize. I haven’t blogged every day already so, whew, am off the hook. Got an MMS from a friend featuring photos of a yellow lab, a black lab, a chocolate lab and a meth lab. hahahaha. perhaps Shiva is outsourcing.
