Tuesdy Time-out

I don’t know about anybody else, but I am getting really tired of kneeing my way through the snow. Even the muscles in my hips hurt. Did you know we had muscles there? I didn’t.

Our television hosts were very excited to share the news that more snow is on the way for tomorrow. I am trying to find a reason to be as thrilled as they are but it’s getting difficult.

If I didn’t have a dog, I am sure it would be nigh impossible. Shiva makes everything a lot more fun. Even trudging through I-don’t-want-to-know-how-many-centimetres of snow becomes a game.

It just so happens, acting like a canine snow plow is very tiring. I am not the only one conked out in the middle of the living room floor in a post-walk stupor.

It’s good to know that no matter how many things are changing, Shiva is pretty much always the same. Good ol’ reliably crazy dog.

We don’t need no stinkin’ leash.

  1. It’s snowing here right now…..ugh.

We posted similar videos today. At least our dogs are making us laugh through this winter.

  2. Shiva, you sure do know how to make your momma laugh! That looks like SOOOO much fun. I sure wish you’d send some of it our way.

  3. Gotta admit – for a native Floridian who has historically traveled great distances and spent large sums of money to get someplace where I can see and enjoy snow, this looks like tons of fun. However, just like anything else, if you had to do it all the time, I guess it would lose its luster. Also, I guess skiing over snow is easier than slogging through it. Shiva looks like she’s having a good time, though! I always wish I would have been able to take Dakotah to see snow. He was built for it and would’ve had a ball. Tuck & Phoebs would be pretty miserable, I think. Stay warm!

  4. I think Honey’s finding it a little tough now that we have a nice icy crust on top of everything. It’s not nearly as fun as the light, fluffy powder.

The snow and cold doesn’t bother me quite as much as the darkness of winter. Every so often my husband threatens to move me to Florida. But I think I enjoy the summer so much because we have to survive winter to get to it.

And it’s definitely coming a little bit every day. Do you notice more light in the sky each evening?

  6. They do have a way of brightening up bad situations, don’t they? I was just thinking that this morning as I was driving to work. I was half asleep, didn’t get much sleep last night, and not excited to be going to work. Then I saw a guy running with his super-excited, crazy-energetic pug puppy and I started giggling and couldn’t take my eyes off them. I had a huge smile on my face when I could barely force myself to pay attention to the road before. And that wasn’t even my dog! Dogs in general just have a way of making me happy.

  7. That is one really good result of the deep snow. I can throw the stick into the deep snow and give Ryker a big workout plowing through that stuff time and time again and he just loves it. Better yet find a hill so he can plow up and down!
We are sick of snow up here as well. Most of us are ready for Spring, which may not come till mid May. *heavy sigh*

  8. I learned we had hip muscles this weekend after standing on a ladder all day saturday painting… I am so sick of the winter too, but not sick enough not to think that pictures are amazingly beautiful!

  9. Nice video of Shiva in the snow! Dogs are especially funny and have way more fun than we do, but dare I say I’m envious of all your snow πŸ™‚ We have had hardly any this year out on the west coast and I’ve missed it!

  10. I have spent more time in inclement weather since having my dogs than I ever have before! But, I’ve also seen more sunrises and sunsets (you mentioned that before too)… and noticed all kinds of things I hadn’t noticed before. So… I guess it’s okay πŸ™‚

  11. Just once I’d like to be able to plow through snow with Dante, just to see how he’d handle it. And then come back home to the 70 degree weather. πŸ˜‰ Gorgeous shots. She looks so sweet sleeping!
