Rather than a normal post, in honour of my blogiversary, I thought I would share with you a little story…
A long time ago, in this one wild life, two streets over from Fort Doberdale, just a girl and her dog were feeling beachie. It’s a Spring Thing. After a bowl of noodles while reading the Paw Print City Times, the hound girl and just another dog were ready to brave the thundering herd at the bark park. According to Gus, there were queer skies ahead. The perfect time to go scratching and sniffing like two pitties in the city.
So fido and wino headed out the door and into the sunshine. Twenty-six to life, thought the accidental Olympian, as she remembered her earlier frame of mind. Will my dog hate me if we head to Peggy’s Pet Place to work on some Ruff Toy reviews instead? No dog about it, she decided to turn back toward Critter Alley. After all, the dogs are really in charge. Now that is some serious pup love.
Sure enough, a poode and a pit bull jumped off the back alley soapboax and headed straight for family and fur. Pawcurious, tales and tails moved forward to say hello. The two new dogs were very doggie stylish, just as pretty as the two little cavaliers they had met last week. Brown dog felt like a tiny little dog in comparison.
Several little dogs on long leashes appeared from around the corner. The woman at the other end of the leash wore a name-tag that read Sara. There were now over 24 paws of love sharing the small sidewalk, yet I still want more puppies.
Off the fur-licity road-dog-taled-it down the street to the barkn’ about park. It was more exciting than the famous Adventures of a Cattle Dog, just a whole bunch of love on a six-foot leash. Beyond love-a-bull. Proof that Dog is God in reverse. At the park, leashes un-clipped, the one girl and too many animals and grrl+dog, stood back. They both believed dogs deserve freedom.
If the original doggies and stuff weren’t enough fun, they were soon surrounded by many others. Mayzie, Mango and Dexter, Eva the Sheltie, and Marge. There was Kolchak Puggle, Mister Rugby Sevens, and West wrestling with the little dog by the grove. There was a flying dingo and a reactive champion getting the grand tour from Koda. Ryker, Johann, and Kenzo, hung out near the beach, showing off their impressive tricks. The graceful greyhounds danced by the sea and proved that yes, greyhounds CAN sit. Even Riley and James were there, and they don’t leave Stumpy’s daily dose of dirtville all that often. It was truly dazzling how well everyone got along, including the fearful dogs. One big happy kginspiration. Success just clicks!
Just like a Trude Rllingsen photograph.
And they all lived ridiculously ever after.
I didn’t say it was a good story. Never fear, there is a point to all this. Remember the awesome t-shirts from Jus Anamalium Culture Apparel? The ones that look like the photo below and part of the sales are being donated to Muttville Senior Dog Rescue?
It is now your chance to win! Yay! *happy dance*
The rules are fairly simple.
1. Click on one of the blogs I have linked to in my story above. It should be a blog you have never read before, or at least haven’t checked out in a long time. I’ll trust you.
2. Come back here and post a comment stating something you have learned from the blog you visited. It can be anything. The name of the dog, the town they live in, whatever. It just has to be something you didn’t know before from a blog you haven’t been to before.
3. You can do this as many times as you like, each new blog you visit will be a separate entry.
4. Make new friends!
Is that simple or what? If you are one of those dedicated readers who have already read every single blog I have linked to, then feel free to go out and find a new blog on your own. It doesn’t even have to be pet-related. Just make sure to share the link in your comment so we can all join in on the fun.
The contest will end on midnight, April 3rd. Once I have all the entries, I will run one of those nifty randomizer things to pick a winner.
Have fun and good luck! Thanks so much for helping me celebrate!
