When I was an awkward child I hated playing tag. I hated every version of the game. Normal tag, freeze tag, TV tag, ABC tag, I-can’t-even-remember-them-all-now tag… It wasn’t the running, that activity I always enjoyed. It was the one athletic thing I could perform without looking like a moron. No, whenever I played tag with friends, I lived in fear of being “It.” I can’t even say why. Maybe I worried I’d never catch anyone? I would remain “It” forever and ever and even and when I turned eighty I’d still be chasing people around the gymnasium? Of course that never happened. There was always one kid slower than I was. Nonetheless, the dread of being tagged plagued my childhood and I never really enjoyed the game.
Now that I am a confident grown-up (ha!) everything has changed. I now feel quite honoured to have been tagged in a fun little blog game that has been going around. Thanks go to The Daily Dog Blog for helping me make up for my misspent youth!
The deal is each blogger has to answer ten questions and then tag others to keep the game going. A lot of people have been answering for themselves and their pets but I think you read enough of my blatherings as it is. I’ve decided The Cat will fill in for me however he sees fit.
1. Describe yourself in 7 words:
Shiva: Fun! Awesome! Fun! Fast! Fun! Invincible!
The Cat: Utterly magnificent. Gorgeous. Far too good for these questions.
2. What keeps you up at night?
Shiva: Nothing! Except birds and the neighbours and Mr. Kitty Sir and tennis balls and my stomach because I am just so hungry!
The Cat: I like being up at night. That’s why I nap all day. Or I would if that dog didn’t keep me awake.
3. Who would you like to be?
Shiva: Me! Me! Me!
The Cat: Myself, of course. Who wouldn’t want to be me?
4. What are you wearing right now?
Shiva: My leather collar from Doggie Stylish! Without my tags because I lost them! Again! For the ten thousandth time! Forcing my human to go back to city hall! Yay!
The Cat: Nothing. Jealous?
5. What scares you?
Shiva: The monster who lives at the bottom of the lake. Actually, he lives at the bottom of every lake. He’s even lurking in some puddles. Evvvviillllll!
The Cat: Please. Why am I even answering these foolish questions?
6. The best and worst of blogging.
Shiva: It’s so boring! Except when I get to do tricks and get yummy food! Then it’s fun!
The Cat: What is this blogging of which you speak? Does it involve worship of my divine presence? Gazing in awe at my beauteous mane? If so, blogging is only natural. If not, it is a complete waste of time.
7. The last website I visited.
Shiva: I don’t like websites. They’re boring. Kind of like these questions. Is it time to play tug yet?
The Cat: My website, of course. Not that it’s been updated this decade. Useless humans.
8. What is one thing I would change about myself?
Shiva: Eat more things!
The Cat: Hire new staff. I mean really, people. The dog’s website is updated every day.
9. Slankets yes or no.
Shiva: Yes! Yes to everything!
The Cat: Yes. I like to bless the female person’s snuggie with my presence. I am benevolent like that.
10. Tell us something about the dog(s) that tagged you.
Shiva: Cali looks like a super-fun dog to play with! She has really nice legs that look good for running! I’d like to be her friend!
The Cat: Why do you care about the dog? This Monkey sounds far more interesting. I wonder if he’d like to join my fan club. His whiskers are almost as beautiful as mine.
Now we have to tag others! As I have no idea who has done this yet and who hasn’t this is a bit of a gamble. I will tag…
And anyone else who feels like joining in. Happy Friday!
