Less Wordy Wednesday – How Shiva Says Goodbye

In our old house there weren’t too many windows from which Shiva could look out. They were either too high or we had big furniture piled in front of them.

Many of the windows in our new house are the perfect height for Shiva to peep from as often as she pleases. In the mornings when my PH heads out for work, she dashes over to this spot to watch him drive away.

Can you see her little face in the bottom right corner?

When I leave, I have to put her in her crate so I don’t get to see her white nose in the window as I lwalk to the bus. Maybe one day she will greet us this way as well.

I can’t think of a nicer way to come home.

  1. Hi Kristine, we’re pretty boisterous (we go a little nuts) when our peeps come home. Because they come home at different times, we jump up and down alot. We’re pretty quiet when they leave though.

  2. Awww… She’s so sweet.

We have a glass front door that Bella watches me come and go by. It makes it very difficult to leave for work in the morning but coming home at night is the best thing ever. :]

  3. yes so long as she stays inside those windows you will be all good… I like having windows for the pups too, though the nose prints are kinda annoying at times. Luna is a big guard dog so sometimes they get her in trouble too. Cute shots though, looks like she is settling in well.

  4. Our window sill is all scratched up from the dogs looking out. I love those scratches in the wood. S & D do not run to the window when I leave, they head for their comfiest spots. 😦 We have a small porch that over-looks the driveway, whoever is home first makes sure to open the slider so the other person can be properly greeted. It is a noisy process when one of us gets home but the most joyous sound I know. 🙂 WTG Shiva!!

  5. My father-in-law set up a ottoman with a bed on it so the dogs could lay and look out the window all day! Shiva is so cute! Trying to keep an eye on her pack!!

  6. That’s one cute fuzzy butt you have peeking out the window. 🙂

Windows with sills low enough for the dog to look out are on my must-have list for a house. Sure, you end up with dog drool all over the class but what’s a little schmutz between friends?

  7. The window that looks onto the driveway is the one that the love seat is under, so Elka will lay there and stick her nose against the screen. That’s also how she checks to see if I’m home before going to the door to perform the DoberDance of Greeting.

  8. I hate that I can’t comment when I read your posts on the train. I just loved these pictures! Even more, I love that Shiva gets to look out windows now. Such pretty pictures. 🙂

  9. That is adorable! I had to put a couch in front of our window so the dogs wouldn’t break the window sill! I swear one day Leroy is going to go right through the window!

  10. I agree! I’m so glad Shiva has her own window! If you have one, you could put a trunk or toy box under the window. Kelly loves to sleep atop ours and sit there and look out the window all day long. It gets pretty boring in our house, with me at the keyboard all day long, so I feel good that she can keep an eye on the cats, birds and mailman (who she hates).

  11. So sweet! I know Dante would love to be able to see out too. Yet another reason why I want to eventually live in an older home, because those are the ones around here that have the big long, low windows. 🙂
