Less Wordy Wednesday – My Happy Place

I am sure you have heard the term “happy place” before. It’s the mental location they tell one to go whenever things get overwhelming. Before Shiva, I never really knew where this was. It was always some figurative place that didn’t really exist and I could never quite envision. All that has changed. Now I know exactly where I can go to find a moment of calm in chaos.

There is nothing like being out on the trail with my dog to put me in a better frame of mind.

I think Shiva agrees that an off-leash walk is the best way to gain a little perspective. A game of chase the stick doesn’t hurt either.

Retrieving said stick is optional.

  1. Walking with me, (or even with one of the other two), seems to bring some sort of calm to The One Called Donna…when nothing goes wrong of course…yet she never walks me as often as I’d like. Life always seems to get in the way. Which is weird when you think about it, because at which moment are you really “living” ?

(Pretty deep for a dog, eh?)

  2. Gosh – I am super impressed that she doesn’t run off into the woods. I am so fearful of letting Blueberry off leash because I know she’d run off into the desert in pursuit of whatever small animal crossed her path. Say what you want about Shiva being difficult – but she has pretty awesome recall!

  3. Kristine – I want your happy place! I love my dog park, but this looks way more awesome! Shiva clearly loves it too. I think we could all use a happy place these days.

Thanks for making a little less wordy instead of wordless. πŸ™‚

  4. Kristine, this is my happy place too. Although my woods look a bit different than yours.

I would love to walk with Sampson, Delilah, you and Shiva some day. That I think would be fun. πŸ™‚

  5. We totally agree! I always call it wilderness therapy and on our last camping trip I bought a t-shirt with the saying, “Hiking…cheaper than therapy”. How true!
