Cranky Human is Cranky

004

Can I just say I am having a really bad morning? First, I cut myself in the shower. Second, Shiva jumped into someone else’s car at the dog park and stared fighting in the back seat with the dog in said car. Third, I was able to call Shiva out of the car only to have her jump right back in again before I could get her leash snapped. Whereupon the two dogs started fighting again.

Fourth, I wake up the kittens to discover they are covered in poop. For the second day in a row. Then, I realize not only are the kittens covered but so is every piece of bedding. The last of the bedding I have available as they have already pooped on every clean towel in the house that I have yet to wash. The only thing I have left to give them is a tablecloth left over from my single days. I knew it would come in handy.

Fifth, I spill litter and water all over myself when trying to close the door of the kitten room before Shiva can burst in to terrify the poopy furballs.

Sixth, I bang my toe on the baby gate we use to prevent Shiva from getting downstairs. It still kinda hurts.

Seventh, apparently the post I thought I published last night didn’t actually publish at all. Which means either WordPress deleted it or I was dreaming when I wrote it.

Eighth, my hair is not behaving and pieces are standing on end and everything I do to fix it only makes it look worse and I know I need a hair cut but it costs so much money and I would cut it myself but I don’t have any good scissors and aahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

This was all before my first cup of coffee.

When it comes down to it, it’s all really just one big justification to show another baby goat video.

All better now.

How is your day going?

  1. Well my day doesn’t seem so bad now:) Oh Kristine, I hope your day improves (don’t think it could get worse:)).

The baby goats are so cute, but Polly was rather interested in the noise coming from my speakers:)

Hang in there, it’s almost the weekend.

  2. Baby goats make everything better don’t they 🙂 Sorry about that morning…That’s enough “mess” for at least 3 days…Guess you have to look at it this way…It’s got to get better from here, right?

  3. And, who doesn’t need a goat video anyways? 🙂

I am so sorry you are having a bad day. To be honest, it sounded a lot like my day every day (I’m kind of a clutz). I actually stubbed my toe on the bath mat in my bath tub yesterday morning and have been hobbling ever since.

I can only hope your day got better after you left for work. (Pssst! Tell Shiva – there is no fighting in the car.) 🙂

  4. Wow Kristine, I’m sorry to hear your day started off so badly. Take a deep breath and shake like a puppy, it helps to get rid of the bad juju. 🙂

I do hope it gets better! Remember, it’s Friday BABY! Time for the happy Friday dance. Yup I’m doing it now in my chair.

And what’s better than baby anything when you are feeling blue?

  5. Ah, Kristine! I hope your unlucky spell has passed now. Stubbing your toe is one of the worst pains in the world!

Those goats are SO cute! Could watch them all day 🙂

  6. What a crappy morning (no pun intended) The scariest part of the whole thing is Shiva and the other dog fighting. I take it that everyone is okay? Lesson learned – put on the leash. As for the kitten poop, I can understand your frustration on that, having had a brain damaged puppy that I bathed every day because he would fall in his urine and poops while crated. Next time, put Shiva outside or get her to sit and stay while going in and out of the cat room (that’s what I do), your hair? Put on a hat. It’s winter. Oh and maybe some steel toed slippers?! Seriously – hold on, it’s just one bad day. Give Shiva a hug and snuggle a (cleaned up) kitten. It’s going to be okay!

  7. Oh god, and I thought I had a bad night yesterday when I was carrying an old dog food bag filled with dog poop to the garbage cans and the bottom fell out and crap went all over my patio and I had to clean it up/hose off the patio in the pouring rain.

But thanks, now I feel better! LOL!

I hope the fight was not traumatic for Shiva or the other dog. (I’m sure YOU are traumatized though. 😦 So FEEL BETTER! Accidents unfortunately happen.)

  8. Bless your heart!!! At least you have the rest of the day to shake it off and, as Jodi said, “do the happy Friday dance”. It will get better. I used to have days like that, but they didn’t start until I got to work; so I was glad when they laid us off.

Ducky gets jealous when I give Shadow loving in front of her, but she’ll just have to get used to it. And she’s possessive of toys, so we have to keep one eye on Ducky and do everything else watching with the other eye. Luckily, like my Mom, I was born with eyes in the back of my head, both sides, and in my butt. And I thank God for doggie daycare!

    Here’s to a relaxing weekend!!

  9. Oh man – that is a pretty bad start to a day. 😦

I posted a Facebook status last night noting that Mercury must be in retrograde due to all the absolutely awful stuff happening/going on with the folks I know. Sorry you’re right there in the thick of it. Hope it gets better for everyone.

I mean, with such an awful morning – it will only get better from here, right? We all have those days. Well, maybe not the dog fighting in the car part…that is a little scary. And aren’t you proud of yourself for keeping that tablecloth? That deserves some pats on the back!

  11. Not a good way to ever start a day, but I’m glad the baby goat vid made things better! Should be a doc’s prescription – “Take 2 baby animal videos and call me in the morning.” (I also recommend anything with otters.)

  12. Wow, what a morning! I hate those too! I hope you don’t have another one anytime soon. Now about the baby goats, holy crap you didn’t make me miss mine any less… I love goats, well the smaller breed ones and especially baby goats. There seriously is NOTHING cuter than baby goats. They are hilarious. I hope I can have some again one day.

  13. omg, what a day, and only just started! And the hair on top of it – couldn’t you just cry?! (or maybe you did, in which case I hope it helped) Thank god for baby goats, thats’ all I can say!
Really hoping things improved for you… a lot! 🙂

  14. Oh my goodness! I hope things start looking up soon – thankfully the weekend is just around the corner. It sounds like you need a day to do just exactly what you want, even if that’s nothing at all.

  15. Wow, you really know how to have a bad morning! Funny how things like that just seem to snowball….it’s like a black cloud follows you around for a while. Hope it lifted for the rest of your day! Kudos to you for always keeping your sense of humor, Kristine. That has to be what keeps you sane through all of that!

  16. Wow Kristine, what did you do to deserve all that??? Ah where was the PH in all this? Listen dude, you have to take that girl of yours (no not Shiva) out for dinner. If not, then at least cook her dinner and buy some decent wine. No not that sh*t, the good wine (a good Malbec from Argentina). Oh, just come over….

  17. Yikes. I hope your weekend is turning out better than your Friday morning! Why are those little babies covered in poop? Silly kittens. When I had the 5 kittens they would all get in the box and try to play while the others were doing their business . .we had our fair share of skid marks on the bed and carpet 😦

Sorry about the craziness . . deep breaths! My remedy for the bad hair day is a cute little knit hat 🙂

  18. That is the worst! Sorry you cut yourself in the shower and stubbed your toe, ow. I can’t walk around the house without shoes, the last time I broke my toe on the dogs’ food and water tray. Not like the tray hadn’t been there a few years. 🙂
Hope Shiva & the other dog were okay & the fight was more noise than anything else. Our dogs can’t be off lead in public, so we use horse lunge lines to walk in the fields, they’re much cheaper and more sturdy than dog training leads.
WTF is up with the kittens? So gross! I’d call the rescue and mention it, they might be sick or need a change of food.
The baby goat video was too cute!

  19. I’m reading this on a Monday and I’m a little concerned that since you didn’t post again since you wrote this that perhaps your bad day didn’t improve, baby goats or not. I hope that is not the case. Or maybe you dreamed you wrote the post again? Here’s to a better week ahead!

  20. How can I even begin to whinge about my day after this? I hope Shiva and the other dog didn’t get hurt? It must have been so frightening. Why did she jump in, you think? I would rather face poopy blankies and bad hair. Did PH kiss the itty bitty toe all better?

  21. Aw geez, sounds like you got all the crap for the month over with in one go! You might be venturing into needing happy sloth videos there. Hope this week is going better for you. ❤

  22. Oh honey! You didn’t need to go through all the horror just to post a baby goat video. Next time skip the cranky pants events and jump straight to baby goats.

  27. OK, here we are back in the petosphere (good word, did you invent it?) finally and wandering around checking up on mates and you’ve gone quiet. After reading your last post I’m hoping your shockingly bad morning hasn’t continued and that you’re having a little sabbatical or something? Take care Kristine.

  29. Hi Kristine, we’re just checking in. We haven’t heard a peep from you in weeks now and quite frankly, we miss you. We hope that things are better now. But whether they are better or not, we wanted you to know that there’s lots of people out here that like you. A few dogs too. So whenever the mood hits you, pick up a keyboard and write. Yes, of course – we’ll still have lots of good wine out here and we can all have a drink together, PH is invited too. You’re a good cookie Kristine.

  31. The Miracle Blade 3 Perfection Series knives are very sharp!!!! I strongly recommend that if you purchase these knives, you buy a knife block to go with this. If not, keep the cardboard slide-ons that come with the knives so you don’t accidently cut yourself. I have owned these knives for three years, and they’re still sharp (just like they were out of the box); the different variety of knives help with a wide variety of foods (i.e. The Slicer for bread, the paring knife to peel oranges, et. cetera). The only problem I have with them, is a little corrosion at the end of the blade near the handle (mostly involving the steak knives, not so much with the Rock N’ Chop!), nothing major that would lead me to throw the knife away- I hand wash these knives and dry them quickly; I would not recommend putting them in the dishwasher. Overall, for $40, it’s not too bad of an investment for a 11-piece set of knives. I give them a 7/10.
